About Me

My photo
Aurora, Ontario, Canada
I am a lover of all things created, history, travel, art and literature. I spend my time with family and friends, working hard and creating things, pretty much in that order. My passion is to make beautiful things to wear, mostly accessories, jewelry, belts, clutches, hair adornments, brooches etc. I create mostly using fabric , fibres, metals, jewels, pins, chain, clips, buttons and more. I have a shop on Etsy.com which I sometimes have a little trouble maintaining depending on the time of year and how busy I am. Check out my Etsy Shop www.etsy.com/shop/dressedtothe9s or click on the box on the left to go directly there.

From Goldfish to Chrysanthemum

I've mentioned my daughter before on more than one occassion and I'm sure I will continue to do so since I am so proud of her and she is very talented.
One of her recent assignments at University was to create something that was morphing into something else.
I know there was more to the assignment than that but you get the idea.
So she came up with this idea to have a goldfish transform into a chrysanthemum. What a great idea I thought.
So here is the first little goldfish made from felt. She made all the patterns, used bits of leftover felt to stuff the bodies so she wouldn't waste anything and the process was amazing.

The cat got hold of this one thinking it was one of her mousies (poor little goldfish)

You will see how they start to explode and change colour as she goes along

The body shape starts to change as well

The pink Chrysanthemum

Here is the whole transformation

I am posting some of her photos of her patterns and how things evolved along the way
